TB Contact Investigation, a research study, is being conducted by the Lung Healh Center along with the Alabama Public Health Department to improve the accuracy and efficiency of investigations of personal contacts of active tuberculosis cases.

The results will be an important tool in TB control as successful contact investigations critically depends on the behavior and skills of public health workers who conduct the investigations.

The project is developing a contact investigation protocol, computer procedures, and a behavioral intervention in a format that can easily be exported to other settings and geographical areas.
