UAB Primary Obstetrics and Gynecology offers comprehensive women's health care ranging from routine obstetrics to the treatment of complicated gynecological concerns, all in a private office setting.  The doctors in Primary OB/GYN are faculty members of the Department of OB/GYN, however no residency training takes place in their offices at The Kirklin Clinic.  For obstetrics patients, your doctor will deliver your baby in almost all cases.  In the unlikely event your doctor can't be there for your delivery, one of the other physicians in Primary OB/GYN will stand in.  Although this is rare, we ensure that all obstetrics patients have a chance to meet and greet all of the doctors in Primary OB/GYN during their prenatal period.

UAB offers seamless access to specialists for patients requiring specialized care, including high-risk obstetrics, gynecologic oncology, and care for infertility and pelvic floor disorders.

New obstetric patient appointments are readily available, and annual gynecologic appointments are available within two weeks. Problem gynecologic appointments are available within one to five days depending on severity.
