Clinical Excellence Award Program: The Highest Honor Achieved by a UAB Nurse

The Clinical Excellence Award is the highest honor that can be achieved by a member of the nursing staff at UAB Hospital. The program seeks to recognize nursing staff who embody what it means to be a UAB Nurse.

Goals of the Program

•  Recognize, support and encourage nurses and non-licensed patient care providers who demonstrate excellence and leadership in their role and practice.
• Identify nurses and non licensed patient care providers who demonstrate high standards of practice and professionalism.
• Acknowledge nurses and non licensed patient care providers who are sensitive to the needs of patients’ family and other customers.
• Reward nurses and non licensed patient care providers who demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision and goals of UAB Hospital and the standards of clinical practice.
