The Surgical Intensive Care Unit provides care for patients who have undergone a myriad of critical surgical procedures.

  • Adult and Pediatric
  • Vascular, Gastrointestinal
  • Liver, Renal, and Renal-Pancreas Transplantation
  • Orthopedics, Plastics, Otolaryngology, Urology
  • Thoracic, Surgical Oncology, Oral Maxillo-Facial
  • Obstetrics and Gynecological Surgery

Number of Beds
  • 20
Nurse/Patient Ratio
  • 1:1-2

Rotation/Shifts
  • 12 hour shifts 7a-7p and 7p-7a
  • Rotating schedule with flexibility

Skill Mix
  • Registered Nurse - 93%
  • Patient Care Technician - 7%

Nursing Unit Orientation
  • 10-12 week orientation
