UAB Nurses Play an Important Role in Community Service

The Nursing staff at UAB Hospital plays an important role in community service by volunteering their time and talents to promote and support the various activities in the Birmingham area.

Examples of Our Service

• Providing health awareness sessions and screenings
• Conducting basic life saving classes and school presentations that promote health
• Assisting with building homes through Habitat for Humanity
• Participation in walks that raise money for the American Heart Association, Transplant patients, Susan G. Komen Foundation , Alzheimer’s, the American Cancer Society, and Arthritis

Making a Difference

UAB nurses recognize that our role of caring for people extends beyond the walls of the hospital. We take seriously our responsibility to influence the health and lives of those in our community, and together, we are making a difference.
