Perioperative Services

The Cardiovascular Operating Room provides Cardiothoracic Surgery to all patient populations including heart and lung transplantation.

The surgical suites at UAB provide cutting edge technology in surgery. Nurses are involved with exciting surgical techniques, such as robotics, endovascular surgery, living-related transplants and a host of other specialties.

The Post Anesthesia Care, Pre-operative Holding and Women’s Anesthesia Care Units provide care for patients in the pre-operative and post-operative phase of the peri-operative period.
